INDUSTRIAL FABRICATION / RESEARCH BRIEF
Silver’s industrial role
Industrial fabrication and the demand for investment products answer different questions.
Read fabrication as its own series.
The Silver Institute’s World Silver Survey 2026 estimates 2025 industrial silver demand at 657.4 million troy ounces, down 3%. Its categories include electrical and electronics uses and other industrial applications. The annual estimate does not measure retail demand for a specific silver bar.
Track material intensity as well as output.
Demand depends on both the number of devices or components manufactured and how much silver each uses. Thrifting and substitution can change that relationship even if production of end products grows.
Allow for the physical transaction.
Packing, shipping, storage minimums and the resale method can matter to a specific quote. Compare both prices on fine weight and the same timeline.
